  • Dave: Well, Jonathan, it's been a while since we've done one of these videos, man.

  • Johnny: It has.

  • Dave: I tell you what, I think Skipper wants us to stay on the radio, because we got the face and body for radio.

  • Johnny: YouTube hates us. I'll tell you that, YouTube hates us.

  • Dave: Well, I tell you who our listeners won't hate was our first guest, Kayla Greer. She's a star, she did a great job with the Cattleman's Association.

  • Johnny: She really did. She did. Kayla came on, she talked to us about what's happening with our men and women, our ranchers, our cattlemen around the state. Good stuff coming up for the youth in the state at Garrett Coliseum next month, and just all the good things that the Cattleman Association does to promote the food, the beef that we eat. Bamabeef.org, check that out.

  • Dave: Yeah. And then we had one of the highest jumping land lenders, probably in the world. He's behind us over there. He's a great leaper even-

  • Johnny: Former Olympic athlete.

  • Dave: Even at his age. Taylor Hart with First South Farm Credit came in and we talked a lot about his basketball memories. We talked about all the great things with First South Farm Credit, great sponsor of the show, great land lender. And folks, if you're thinking about buying a farm or anything in the countryside, you need to talk to First South.

  • Johnny: That's right. Not only is he a Hall of Famer on the court, he's also a Hall of Famer in the land lenders, so reach out to him. That's right.

  • Dave: I like that. There you go. I got to pay you for that. [inaudible 00:01:20]

  • Johnny: And then we went to our good friend, Randall Upchurch over in Clay County. He gave us kind of a farmland update, talked about some of the things happening on their cattle farm and just how important the Alabama Cattleman's association is for he and his family. And then gave us an update on poultry farms. And there's a lot of good stuff happening in the poultry market right now.

  • Dave: Yeah. And since I'm moving away further north, up around Talladega, to work on a rental cabin project for a season. I'm stepping away from The Land Show, been a great run and enjoyed it very much. So we started our interview process today for the co-host and we brought in Rick [inaudible 00:01:57].

  • Johnny: That's right.

  • Dave: What's his call?

  • Johnny: Yeah. Rick came in and he felt ambushed. He put the dots together yesterday. He felt like we were going to try to rope him into the show.

  • Dave: So let us know at info@thelandshow.com, how you think Rick did, whether he'd make a great co-host or not. You don't know, you're going to be looking for one in the future.

  • Johnny: That's right.

  • Dave: Or if you're interested, let us know.

  • Johnny: That's right. Just a Lister promotion here, you can come be a co-host. It doesn't pay. But man, it has been a good run. I have very much enjoyed doing this show with you, and people can't see our faces on the radio. Everything's good with Dave and me, he's just geographically moving. Being a part of the show is-

  • Dave: You hurt my feelings real bad. No.

  • Johnny: Being a part of the show is going to be harder for you.

  • Dave: No, that's right. Show's going on, it's going to be better. Jonathan, you're the star of the show. I've said many times, you're Johnny Carson, I'm Ed McMahon. I just laugh a lot. So you can always find a new Ed McMahon.

  • Johnny: Well, I'll do the golf swing like Johnny Carson did. Well y'all, we do appreciate all of you tuning into The Land Show. We appreciate all of our listeners and our good sponsors of the show. We hope that you'll check out the podcasts. You can get it anywhere you get your fine podcasts. We'll continue to call Dave whenever we run short on guests for the show, we'll be sure to call.

  • Dave: Yeah. And for my last-

  • Johnny: The service is kind of spotty up here in Talladega.

  • Dave: And for my last time, I'll say it again. We appreciate you watching this video review and encourage you to listen to the entire Land Show with Dave and Johnny.
