  • Dave - Well, Jonathan, it was another great show. We started off in your part of the world there with Ms. Pam Swanner, been a frequent guest of the show over the years with Alabama Black Belt Adventures and the book that she told us about they put together to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the Black Belt Bounty really sounds like a great coffee table piece.

  • Johnny - Yeah, I'm going to try to snag my copy today. I'll go ahead and make sure I

  • Dave - You'd better get one for Ms. Whitney.

  • Johnny - Yeah, I definitely need to get one and a lot of exciting stuff happening in the Black Belt. Then we had your friend Brock Ray on of Brock's Hunting Cabins and talked about all the good line of cabins that they've got. Your place is really cool and those are just a neat setup, for sure.

  • Dave - Yeah, that's a tremendous product. Really, really enjoyed it and then we had old Russ on there, I think he was farming in a boat. I think he had

  • Johnny - Can you hook a tiller up to the boat?

  • Dave - Yeah. He was having to be creative. He said he's going to get in the crawfish business, but he was just talking about the challenges of farming with terraces and hilly country and the way that they met those challenges over the years. Really interesting.

  • Johnny - Yeah, and then we wrapped it up with a listener question, just asking about is buying a hunting property could you consider that an investment? And what that kind of component looks like. Dave shared a story about a property that he and his father purchased together and there are a lot of opportunities with that sort of thing.

  • Dave - Yeah, we talked about timber yields and how a place might perform over time and double appreciation while enjoying a piece of hunting property. And you all be sure to listen to the rest of the podcast here, and thanks for listening to this preview. As always, we appreciate you listening to The Land Show with Dave & Johnny.
