Robert King, Southeastern Land Group's top producer for 2021, was on the show to talk about how they are able to help a lot of people with the purchase and sale of poultry farms around the Southeast.
Dr. Perry Green, the author of several books on Coosa County, was in to discuss some of his favorite memories about growing up in a rural part of Alabama.
Scott Mills, an agent with Southeastern Land Group, talked about current trends in the land markets around Montgomery County.
Kyle Scully, the owner of River Bottom Retrievers, was on to talk about his retriever training business down in Baldwin County.
Dave: Well, Johnny, it was a great show today, man.
Johnny: Yeah, it was. It was. We covered a lot of ground. And we started out with our good friend Robert King over in Clay County. And Robert talked to us a lot about poultry farm. He was the recipient of of Southeastern Land Group's top producer award at our banquet last weekend. And man, he had a phenomenal year.
Dave: He had a huge year. And you were nipping at his heels. You were number two. You got the silver medal there. You were you had a fantastic year. You were number two in Australia's worth. Got our bronze he was our number three overall. And we gave out other awards, 45 awards, 45 levels of achievement. It was just really a great, great meeting there.
Johnny: What that translates into is we appreciate everybody that let Southeast help them buy or sell land last year. We certainly could not do it with you all. And I think we have more opportunities to help people last year than ever before in our company.
Dave: That was great. It was the most we'd ever produce. We're thankful for that. And then we had a really interesting guest. Come on. Came in studio and brought it some of these great books here. This one's wonderful. We Augusta. What's that one there?
Johnny: This is but that's another story. Gin soaked memories. An old country boy. Gin soaked memories.
Dave: Yeah. We had Dr. Perry Green. He's a retired dentist. He was with Air Force. But he grew up in KUSA county and humble beginnings and had just great stories that he's compiled about moon shining and everything from killing to loving and funny stories. People get home sponge stories out in the country that are really rare in this world with so many fake things. This is real.
Johnny: He was the real deal. I'd like to sit down with a notebook and just write down the saying.
Dave: Well, he's one of our longtime listeners. And he came in studio, brought us these books and it was fantastic. And we love getting ideas from you all. So just keep them coming.
Johnny: Yes, for sure. And then Scott Mills came in. Scott as our agent here in the Montgomery area with Southeastern Land Group. And he talked about his business and then also talked about duck hunting, some opportunities where you don't necessarily have to drive to Arkansas to Hunt Ducks. There's some opportunities around here. And we kind of discussed that for you.
Dave: And he had one of his good friends on Mr. Kyle Scully with River Bottom Retrievers down in Baltimore County. Very successful business, does a fantastic job, trains champion Labrador retrievers. But I didn't realize that he also trains obedience for just any kind of dog.
Johnny: I am going to send my five-year-old down there. I think you'd be good. I think he would benefit from that.
Dave: Yep. Well, it's time to go deer hunting, man. We got to put some deer in the freezer. And folks we appreciate you all watching this video review and encouraging to listen to the entire land show with Dave and Johnny.
